Resources For College and High School Students
Summer Stock Hiring List - This spreadsheet is regularly updated with a list of Summer Stock theaters that offer seasonal staff and internship or apprenticeships in sound production and/or design. These make great opportunities for college students looking to start their career in between years at school.
Sound Design Programs List - This is a list of schools offering programs in sound design and production for the theatre. The first list contains undergraduate programs, MFA graduate programs are listed below.

Useful Things I’ve Made
This calculator helps you to find the timecode and time stamp of a chosen measure and beat in a piece of music, or between two chosen beats. This can also be added to an initial time or timecode value. Useful for synchronizing timecode stamps and Qlab cue timing to click.
This calculator is used to map out the timecode and time stamps at marked measures throughout an entire song. It factors in BPM and Time Signature adjustments.Most useful in mapping out timecode across music or synchronizing Timecode with Click track in Ableton scenes.

Kai Harada’s Sound Handbook - Under Construction for 25 years! Broadway Sound Designer Kai Harada has put together some useful info on sound engineering well as his take on sound for theatre and resources for newcomers.
Jason Romney’s Classroom - Jason Romney, the professor of Sound Design at UNCSA, makes his weekly class recordings publicly available. These are great resource for exploring deeper topics of sound design and engineering.
Gareth Fry’s Q&As for Students - UK based Sound Designer Gareth Fry has put together some great resources including his Q&As for students entering the industry. I recommend exploring his website more as well as picking up a copy of his book!
Sound Gym - Sound Gym is an online ear-training program that uses daily, bite sized workouts to develop your critical listening skills. Requires Subscription.
